February 3rd Staff Development Day

The LUSD teachers participated in our third and final staff development day for this school year on February 3rd. They spent the day working in grade level groups and site level groups reviewing instructional strategies, assessment practices and their goals. The day ended on a great note with a visit from principal Rick Judd. Mr. Judd was presented with the LUSD Courage Award. Rick's treatments concluded in January and staff is excited for him to return in the spring! Click above to see the staff recognition presentation.
Loomis Area Railroad Crossing Update

LUSD 2012-13 Budget Workshops

The Loomis Union School District is hosting a series of three budget workshops. The presentation from the first workshop is available for you to view by clicking above. Please mark your calendars for the remaining workshops:

February 2, 2012 Franklin Elementary School at 7:00pm
February 16, 2012 Placer Elementary School at 7:00 pm
Kindergarten Registration begins March 1, 2012

The Loomis Union School District Kindergarten registration process begins on March 1st at all LUSD school sites. Please click here for more details regarding Kindergarten orientation and registration.
LUSD Board of Trustees Calendar Update

At the December 15, 2011 board meeting the LUSD Trustees approved date changes to the 2011-12 school year board meeting calendar. There will be budget workshops at the January and February meetings. Please click above and mark you calendars for these very important meetings.
California Health Kids Survey

Students in the 5th & 7th grades, with parent consent, will be participating in the California Healthy Kids Survey on February 7, 2012. The survey's are available here for parent viewing.

Superintendent's Corner

Welcome to the Loomis Union School District. Our district takes pride in our continued success marked by high academic achievement, outstanding teaching and support staff, excellent leadership and a strong Board of Education. Additionally, our district schools are blessed with outstanding parental and community support.

The 2011-12 school year is shaping up to be another great year for LUSD. We have been able to maintain lower class sizes than most districts and have been fortunate to bring on new employees when so many other districts are dealing with massive lay-offs.

Our website contains valuable information about our district, our schools and our community. Please take a moment to peruse the pages of our district and school websites to learn more about our fabulous district.

Our Board of Trustees meets on the first Thursday of each month and I encourage you to attend a meeting to learn more about LUSD. We welcome your input and feedback as we will continuously strive to keep our district on path to become one of California’s premier districts!
