Gordon T. Medd was appointed Superintendent of Loomis Union School District effective July 1, 2011. Prior to joining LUSD, Mr. Medd served as an Assistant Superintendent of Administrative Services in the Dry Creek Joint Elementary School District. Prior to becoming the assistant superintendent, Mr. Medd spent more than twelve years as a principal in the Dry Creek School District. Two of those schools where he served as principal, Antelope Crossing and Quail Glen, were awarded California Distinguished School awards. In addition to his years in administration, Mr. Medd taught elementary, junior high and high school. Mr. Medd holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Victoria in Canada and a Master of Arts in Education Administration from California State University, San Bernardino.
Mr. Medd has participated in leadership roles on a local and state level. These activities include the California Association of School Business Officials (CASBO) Governance Committee, State Controller's Office Mandated Costs Review Committee, Placer County Special Education Program Committee, and a Board Member and President of the California Association of Year Round Education. In addition to his work in education, Mr. Medd is extremely involved in the Rocklin community where he resides. He coaches youth soccer and volunteers at his children's schools. In his free time, Mr. Medd loves to run; water and snow ski and play any and all sports.
