LBAL Sports Update

The Loomis Basin Athletic League (LBAL) has begun two of their three fall sports. Cross Country’s first mini meet was held at Franklin Elementary and Penryn Elementary. Schools ran in four teams made up of grades 4th & 5th girls/boys and grades 6th & 8th girls/boys. The finals meet will be at Franklin Elementary on September 27th starting at 3:45. The second fall sport, Boys Volleyball (pictured Placer vs. H. Clarke Powers) is in their third week of matches. Seventh and Eighth grade teams represent each school. The volleyball matches are fast paced and high energy. Come cheer on our students at the championship games at Placer Elementary on October 12th starting at 3:15.

Teachers Return Early for Planning Meetings

LUSD teachers return early from summer break to plan for the 2017/2018 school year. Teachers collaboratively discussed how to effectively think, act, and communicate to successfully lead and inspire others. Teachers also celebrated growth and set news goals for the upcoming school year.

Summer.....What Summer?

Many LUSD staff delayed the start of their summer break and joined the Beyond Boot Camp ~ Living the GSuite Life training offered from June 5th - 8th in our LUSD Tech Training Room. Staff from all schools participated in a variety of tech topics including websites, Google Drive, Youtube Playlists, Google Classroom. Topics were open to all users from the beginner to the expert. All staff were encouraged to incorporate technology into what they already do to enhance student success in LUSD.

LUSD Track Meet Finals

The Loomis Basin Athletic League hosted 8 schools in their yearly end of the season finals track meet at Del Oro High School. Students in grades 5th - 8th were able to participate in the team sport towards earning the coveted league finals banner. Placer Elementary earned the top score in both the girls and boys team division to bring the banner to their school. Students enjoyed the camaraderie of their competitors, all while cheering on their peers to do their personal best.

Transitional Kindergarten Program

The Loomis Union School District offers an all day Transitional Kindergarten Program to students turning 5 years old between September 2, 2017 and December 2, 2017. LBEF "TOAST" Event ~ September 9th
