Superintendent's Message

Welcome to the Loomis Union School District. Our district boasts some of the highest student achievement results and lowest class sizes in Placer County. Our hard working staff is dedicated to meeting each child’s academic, social and emotional needs in and out of the classroom. Our school board and district leadership are committed to providing each school with the necessary resources to ensure success.

There are numerous reasons why LUSD is a district of choice for many students across Placer County. In addition to our outstanding staff, excellent test scores and low class sizes, LUSD offers music and physical education to all students; band, orchestra, and choir to our fourth-eighth grade students; a supportive and generous community; and most importantly, outstanding students.

LUSD has embraced innovative instructional programs including two International Baccalaureate Schools (Loomis Basin Charter and H. Clarke Powers) and the Ophir STEAM Academy (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math). We have made tremendous growth in expanding our technology available for students and staff. At LUSD we are committed to preparing our students to be successful leaders of the 21st Century.

Please take the time to explore our website to learn more about LUSD. Our Board of Trustees meets on the first Thursday of each month and I encourage you to attend a meeting. If you are interested in becoming part of the LUSD family please come visit our district office located at 3290 Humphrey Road or call us at (916) 652-1800.
