It is possible to waive benefits if your spouse does not work for the District and has a plan that works better for you. Remember that waiving your benefits means that you will have no dental, vision or life insurance. All employees over the age of 65 do not have the option of joining the high deductible plans

Professional Growth Units
In an effort to honor the time and commitment of LUSD staff who attend professional development classes offered by the district, Board Policy 4351 related to Employee Compensation now offers district certificated staff the opportunity to earn Professional Growth Units for attending LUSD developed professional growth opportunities. This opportunity applies to many of our afterschool, Saturday and summer professional development programs.
