Menus & Nutritional Pattern Guidelines
-
-
Breakfast and lunch will be provided free of charge for ALL students, thanks to the California Universal Meals Program. Please note that this includes one breakfast and one lunch per child each day.
- All lunches (excluding minimum days) include a salad bar with seasonally available options such as: locally-grown fruit, vegetables, lettuce, carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, broccoli, celery sticks, oranges, mandarins, strawberries and blueberries.
- LUSD Food Services sources and utilizes local and organic produce, and whole grain offerings, where possible
-
LUSD parents are encouraged to complete the Application for Meals to maximize state funding for LUSD schools. Only one application is necessary per household.
Monthly lunch menus are posted by our food service department. Check back regularly to see what lunch options are available. Please note that unfortunately, there are times when the current food supply shortages and product unavailability may result in a change to the lunch menu on short notice.
We will continue to make our best efforts to serve our students the items that are identified on the school lunch menu or, if necessary, to provide them with a similar alternative. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work with our distributors to navigate through the shortages.
