Visual and Performing Arts

The mission for the Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) program is to provide all students with programs that foster learning and appreciation for the arts, including both visual and performing arts.

We are proud to offer a range of VAPA opportunities across our schools. In addition to music, some sites also offer art and design instruction as part of their VAPA curriculum. Each school’s schedule and VAPA resources may differ based on site-specific goals.

Goals for Classroom Music
To build a love and foundation for music literacy that will allow for success in upper-level instrumental and vocal music.

Goals for Beginning Band
To build a foundation for instrumental music.

Goals for Intermediate Band
To build on beginning band experience to transition into an advanced instrumental ensemble.

Goals for Jr. Eagle Band
To provide a rigorous advanced instrumental music experience that prepares students for high school music and helps them develop leadership skills.

Goals for Visual Art and Design
To develop creative thinking, self-expression, and visual communication through foundational techniques, media exploration, and design principles, while fostering appreciation for art.
