About LBEF

The Loomis Basin Education Foundation (LBEF) was established in 2006 by a group of committed parents, educators, and community leaders who wanted to enhance educational opportunities for students in the Loomis Union School District.

LBEF was officially incorporated on December 21, 2006, and continues to support LUSD students by providing funding for academic and enrichment programs that complement the District’s educational goals and strategic plan.

LBEF raises funds through community events, family and community donations, and support from local businesses. These funds allow LBEF to provide grants that enhance the educational experience for students throughout the Loomis Union School District.

Community Events

LBEF has a long history of bringing the community together through fundraising events. We are grateful to the many volunteers, families, businesses, and community members who have supported these events over the years.

2026–27 Event Update

For the 2026–27 school year, Taste of a Small Town (TOAST) and the Loomis Basin Holiday Home Tour will not be held due to limited volunteer capacity.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has volunteered, participated in, and supported these events over the years. Their success has always depended on the generosity and dedication of our community.

We look forward to continuing to support LUSD students through our ongoing fundraising efforts and hope to bring these beloved community events back in the future with the support of additional volunteers.

MandaRUN

The first MandaRUN was held in October 2007 and brought the community together for a 10K, 5K, and fun run in downtown Loomis, raising more than $17,000.

Today, MandaRUN continues as an annual community event featuring a beautiful half-marathon course from Auburn to Loomis and a 5K run. Proceeds support educational opportunities for students in the Loomis Union School District.

LBEF Golf Tournament

The LBEF Golf Tournament brings parents, families, friends, and community supporters together for a fun day of golf, friendly competition, and great food and beverages—all while raising funds to support LUSD students.

A Community Built on Volunteers

LBEF's success would not be possible without the volunteers and community members who give their time, energy, and resources to support local students.
